XO24Pro
The
XO24Pro is a studio grade 2-way 24dB/oct Linkwitz/Riley
electronic crossover that uses detachable frequency
cards to set the crossover frequency. This method
is sonically superior compared to adjustable crossovers
with their potentiometers.
With
these Frequency Module cards, common spot frequencies
like 1.5kHz, 2kHz, 2.5kHz, 3.0kHz, 3.5kHz can be assembled
for crossing the woofer to the tweeter.
The
XO24Pro is equipped with an adjustable delay for the
woofer. This allows for Time-Alignment of horn loaded
2-way speakers.

Fig 1: Osprey-12 Low
Pass and High Pass
Fig
1 shows the XO24Pro in use with the Osprey-12.
The frequency card is at 1.6kHz.
The
Blue plot is the 12CX woofer. The Red plot is the
Selenium D220ti compression driver that is screwed
to the back of the woofer. They are crossing acoustically
at 1.6kHz at 24dB/oct.

Fig 2: Osprey-12 Time-Aligned
The
violet plot in Fig 2 is with the woofer delay carefully
adjusted to time-align the woofer to the compression
driver. The deep notch is indicative of time-alignment.

Time-Algned Frequency Response
Fig
3 is the Time-Aligned response of the Osprey-12. For
this measurement, the Selenium D220ti is actually
wired in reversed phase.
The
XO24Pro is one channel only, therefore two are needed
for stereo use. It requires a regulated power supply
for the op amp. Our PSU15REG
is specially designed for such purpose.
The
purchase of the XO24Pro, whether as a Kit or Pcb only,
includes one pcb card for the frequency module. Additional
cards are available for purchase.
